We have set custom boxes on our home page i cannot set them to be visible to logged in and not logged in customers and get the strange situation where if a user is not logged in they can see the boxes, if they are logged in they do not appear. We are using hide prices till logged in so need both users to be able to see them.
 
 
If i refresh my screen a few times the missing content sometimes appears - strange...

In CMS at:
Administration > CMS > home
do you clck on the block and then, from the box - top roght - check this area correctly:
"Restrict showing block only for" ?

I have noticed on your website you have managed to add a categories list in the top products page , how have you done this , this is something i would like to do.

Then just leave the "site users" blank?
