Something that really should be implemented as a patch or a future release - Automated Currency updates ...
 
This is extremely important when it comes to sites which are trading in multiple currencies and allowing customers to pay in their preferred currency as to the sites' default.
 
Unless I have overlooked this, I don't think it updates the currency exchage rates via any cron, but only through the admin script.

The automatic updates are already available, you just need to put on cron 'admin_floatrates.php' script.

Unfortunately, after having tested updating it via the admin_floatrates.php file, I keep getting the following error -
 
Status: 500 Internal Server Error
X-Powered-By: PHP/5.3.10
Content-type: text/html
 
Having checked, there is no entries in the error_log file - so it is not much of a help there ... also, I checked the permissions on the admin_floatrates.php file - it is set at 0644 - so, doesn't seem like it's a permissions issue.
 
Any more ideas? Are you able to same admin_floatrates.php via a cron job on your own/test server?
