I am sure this has been asked enough times. I have products that have a ton of options & values, how can I copy the entire product to another category?
I tried the export/import way, but it does not allow me to copy over the options.
What I want to achieve is a the exact copy of a product in 1 category in another category. This eliminates from me having to retype all the options again.
I surely hope there is a way to do this.

I havn't seen any import/export that handles all the options correclt (if at all)
But a product can be in more than one catagory, (manually) just bring up the list of products that you wish to add the second catagory to and hit the 'catagory' link under the product description.
Not being able to export the options, catagories, and the rest is no fun.

when you have all the products for a catagory up: you'll see the word catagory under the product name (at least under v 3.5), click on that and add the second catagory. don't open the product itself, just click on the word catagory...
under the product name you'll see:
Prices | Images | Options & Components | Specification | Related | Categories | Accessories | Releases

yes I was able to copy over the product to another category, but now I want the product name to be different in each category and the system will not allow it.
If I change the product name in 1 category, the other one also changes.
Have I linked them in the wrong way, or is there a way to copy the product over and be able to have 2 different titles?
Thanks for responding.

No, you would need to create a second product for the different product name.

The other way you can do this is duplicate the product within its own category - it then becomes "Product A (Duplicate)".
Then for this duplicate hit the categories link as described above. Put it in the new category, remove it from its current one.
In new category change the product title etc.

Hi Ned:
A pretty darn good idea, I must admit. Unfortunately the parent options etc do not get duplicated. So although it has the option present, it has no link to the Parent Option.
But at least I can copy the options over.
I wonder if it affects the Database logically if it has the same option title with the same order# and same ID# in 2 different products.
Regards.

Hi Ned:
The system seems to update the Option ID# to the next one in sequence, but the Parent Option is missing.
