I've got an idea that would really improve the layouts of our sites.
 
I think two ideas:
 
1.) The header and footer should be able to be created with the cms layout, so that we may apply blocks easily and efficiently in a moments time. We could then have a super small cart script and login script icons etc to dynamically update.
 
2.) The CMS should allow extra rows and colums to be added. This would be useful so that we could have for example, instead of just '- - -' where '-' is a block we could do "_ __" and then under it still have "- - -". We could span one block accross two columns and then under it span a block only two colums. not sure if this makes sense to you all.

Yes, this is a really good idea. This layout sys could help us to make more professional and complex page layouts in an esay way!
 
But I if this is a big step could be a first a container block witch can contain 2-3 blocks separated horizontally...

I'm all for this too. It's a way to add flexibility to the look of a site, and the more flexible the template system becomes, the more appealing it'll be to both existing customers and potential customers.
