I was initially impressed by this software (like multiple lang and currency etc -- even they are useless to 99.99% of users). I am glad I hesitate a little to click the buy button. Sorry to say it can not even do the most basic thing it suppose to do. Maybe it was too cheaply priced? With database backed shopping cart, why there is no inventory check and control?
 
For example, no matter what you do in product page, say you have 2 copies of DVDs, then any customer can order more than 2 copies. I tried 5, it went though, and leave database entry a "-3". It certainly did the math right. Is this whole thing a joke?
 
Before it becomes more fancy, why not make it be able to the most basic thing as a real life shopping cart.

Yes, you missed something. This is a user error. You can't just check the "use inventory control" box without also checking a box for what to do when the inventory is depleated. If you checked the box "Disable Off Limits Products" and you only had 3 in stock, then the drop-down quantity box would only let you add 3 to your cart.

Do you happen know how do them implement it? Say if you get a HOT product, there are 2 customers want to buy total a 4 copies for only 3 copies in stocks.
 
In simple word, did the program do a final check before the order finalized.
 
Also some people place a product in a cart, but never order anything.
 
Is mySQL has index to enhance searching performance? If so, Once the products are added, will Viart build index automatically?
