Is there an option in the discounts where I can set that if a customer order three products from a specific category, they only pay for two? Like, get one for free?

I haven't tried it but when adding a product there is a tab 'quantity prices'.
Try putting the standard individual price for 1 item
Then on the next line [same individual price] min and max quantity 3 - show discount of 33.33%?
May need refining and someone else may have a better suggestion but you could work on this.
Not sure how you handle an order for quantity = 2 items.
Best wishes

Ah, but will this work if you put two different products in the cart, for example three different pairs of underpants that is different products but from the same category? I have found a way as you say, to set that if you buy three items of the same product then the discount of 33% is activated, but not when it regards different products in the same category or specific products in different categories..?

If you really want this you can commission Viart to do it for you - and they will do it at a very reduced price on the basis that it can be added into a future release as standard.
Just put in a support ticket and ask the question.
