Can anyone recommend a good payment system. Have been using EPDQ but it's got a terrible dashboard. EPDQ charges a flat 3 percent & no monthly charge.

I really like Paypal pro, but it's $30/month in US. I like the ability to create prepaid USPS or UPS labels. I like that the income from any purchase is immediately available on the PayPal debit card - this is great for dropshipping, because as soon as someone buys I can safely have the vendor charge me off the debit card, knowing it's covered.
PayPal pro is also available in the UK (ChristoperO in this forum uses it), but I think that's it. I found almost every solution I checked out to be about $30. I like that I don't have to deal separately with authorizenet by using paypal pro.
Probably you'll get other suggestions for other no-monthly-fee solutions.

Thanks Paypal pro is on my shortlist for the reasons you've stated. Been using standard paypal for years & really like it but non paypal users find it confusing so I'll have to bite the bullet & subscribe to pro version. Have you ever managed to get a discounted rate for higher monthly income?

I have been looking at an alternative in the UK for card payments but would still give the PayPal option as many of my customers have PayPal accounts.
One reason I was looking around was to get Verified By Visa (3D security) but now that this has been implemented I don't have the same urgency.
btw PayPal charges by volume and we now pay 20p + 2.6% per transaction.
BUT, PayPal has imposed a retainer* that is held in our account but cannot be drawn so we are still considering a move.

* six months ago we suffered a large scam from Italy - we a were easily able to fund it without causing any problem with our account but PayPal seems to want security in case it happens again - but they have no evidence that this is likely. This is the one downside of PayPal - they are not easy with communication.
btw - PayPal Pro charges a monthly fee of £10 - if you don't need card checkout on your shop page you can stay with PayPal Standard and let you customers pay inside PayPal and save the monthly fee.

Thanks for your help. Have signed up for Web Pro, just waiting for Paypal now. Hoping it won't be too difficult to set up!
