A Very Happy New Year to all and we do hope that you had a great time.
 
As it is the start of a new year, we do have some exciting news and updates here at ViArt. To begin with, we are trying our best to improve the response times and the quality of responses on support queries. We now have an active team working on upgrading the manual. ViArt also is gearing up to offer more effective custom solutions in order to provide a product that perfectly matches your requirements.
 
Our main focus this year will be active involvement with customers and ViArt community and constantly strive to improve the products/services offered.
 
And of course, there is the eagerly awaited software upgrade 3.7 which does include some cool features.
 
We also would like to take this opportunity and thank all our customers and ViArt Community for your constant support and encouragement (with a special mention to all the active members and contributors on our Forum Board)

I agree... can we mention some of these new cool features?

For me, Dan, I am trying to make some creative improvements to my shop -- if these cool features are what I need I could stop and wait -- it would certainly be very helpful to have some hints.
 
And if Ravs is right in that he is moderating this thread - then, what about it Ravs?

I hope some of my customisations are included into the core so I don't have to stress when it comes to upgrade time.

Why dont we bribe Ravs and leak out some info of 3.7 lol

I added a really useful function to the coupons which allows the coupon to overide global minimum orders.
 
E.g Site minimum is £25 but the coupon allows an order os say £10 either standalone or combined with any other coupon function e.g a 10% discount or £5 off etc.
 
Very useful if allowing customers to buy gift vouchers for example for a friend as before the site minimum would only allow purchases above the minimum etc etc
 
+ very useful for introduce a friend coupons too
 
Anyway lets hope this is included as standard.

I also added a coupon customisation. In restrictions, rather than list products or users, I had ViArt customise it so you could select Product Type or User Type. That way, as product or user types are added to the system, they are automatically added to the coupon.

There will also be a { basket new } that can be linked to an order status (I change orders to "Completed" a week after despatch).
 
This message is then sent automatically, confirms the order sent to check with the customer that everything was OK, and then asks for a review and rating for each product in the order (there is a link with each product in the order to that product's review page) - I give a monthly prize for a review selected at random.
 
I am getting a lot of product reviews.
 
We also hear quickly about delayed orders so that we can get onto these before they descend into a complaint.

There is another useful mod I have had done for UK use - may be useful elsewhere so I don't know whether it will be included.
 
To help to despatch by Royal Mail I need labels with the Royal Mail licence printed on it, and a return address to us.
 
I have these key details already printed onto the lables and in admin I click the orders and select to have the addresses [Acrobat file] 2 up for printing onto the labels two per A4 page - a quick way to produce compliant Royal Mail postal labels.
 
The mod can also allow the system to print the licence and return address but it suits us just to have it produce addresses (the order number is added a few lines beneath the address to be sure that the label is fixed to the correct order.
 
If it is not in the next release and anyone would find ths useful, make a not to let me know.
