Shopping.com Test Ebay Shopping Cart Feature

Ebay Use Shopping Cart Feature on Shopping.com Comparison siteShopping.com is currently testing the eBay shopping cart feature that allows customers to purchase items from multiple retailers in one transaction. Customers will be able to use their exisiting eBay User IDs to use he shopping cart feature and complete the transaction, directly on Shopping.com.

Shopping.com, which is owned by eBay, is a leading comparison-shopping engine where retailers pay to display their items side by side. When a customer clicks on their item they are taken to the retailers site to purchase the item, and retailers are charged by Shopping.com every time somebody clicks on their ad. In contrast, the new shopping cart that is currently being tested will only charge retailers when consumers make a purchase on Shopping.com.

Elements of the shopping cart testing include buyer registration, a shopping cart, checkout, payment system and a revenue share program for retailers.

When asked how merchants could learn more about participating in Shopping.com's Cart checkout, Spokesman for Shopping.com, Wendy Sept said the test is by invitation only. When asked about integration initiatives between Shopping.com and eBay, Sept outlined several, including the integration of product reviews from Epinions into eBay Reviews and Guides. She also said cross-promotional tests are underway with eBay Marketplaces and PayPal.
