To update your version please do the following:
1) Make a backup of all files in your current version
2)Make a backup of your current database
3)Rewrite all files from new version (except ones you've changed, e.g. templates,styles)
4)You should leave 'old' file /includes/var_definition.php
5)Run 'Administration > System > System Upgrade' - this should upgrade your database structure
